Maritime Simulator
South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences
XAMK and EKAMI are working together to build a new maritime simulator center with the aim to provide the best possible maritime training for existing and future seafarers. Both procurement units (Xamk and EKAMI) make the procurement decision on their own behalf, and the purchasers are jointly responsible for the costs of the procurement with payment shares to be agreed upon in the contract negotiations. A joint contract is concluded between the customers and the supplier for the procurement.
This will be done by having state of the art, full mission simulators for bridge and machinery operations that will be able to work together to prepare the students for the situations aboard real ships. These simulators will be complemented by classrooms for training in navigation, radio communication, machinery operation and cargo handling.
The simulator center will consist of five DNV class A compliant ship bridges, two DNV class A compliant engine room simulators, two classrooms accommodating 20 students each, as well as additional facilities to cover more specialized training to create a complete maritime training environment.
The investment budget for the maritime simulator is EUR 3 500 000,00 (0% VAT). Tenders exceeding this will not be accepted by the Customer.
