… observations.
… observations. The tender is for 600 nodes, with an option to purchase 0-600 more, i.e., altogether up to 1200 nodes. The instrumentation is meant for registering and storing data originating from various types of seismic sources in wide frequency band. Depending on the experiment, the data are for example to be used for 3D modeling of geological structures, such as ore deposits, faults and intrusions using active-source imaging and/or passive seismic methods (e.g. seismic interferometry methods). The equipment could be also used for microseismic monitoring. Typically, development of the seismic imaging methods is one key reason for the data acquisition.
General description of the large-N nodes
The equipment should consist of standalone nodes each capable of autonomously recording continuous 3-component (3C) active and passive seismic data, and all necessary information for system and data Quality Control (QC). The equipment should be light-weight and easily portable, i.e. no permanent installation should be required for operation.

The equipment should be light-weight and easily portable, i.e. no permanent installation should be required for operation.
The data should be time synchronized and stored in a commonly accepted format for seismological data (SEG-D, SEG-Y or MiniSeed), or the Tenderer should provide a code to transform the data into these standard formats. At least QC data should be harvestable wirelessly.

A standalone node should include a high-sensitivity 3-channel sensor(s) to record 3C seismic data (vertical and two horizontal components of ground velocity), data storage, GPS synchronized timing system, a power source, all necessary cables etc. to fully operate the unit, and equipment for wireless system and data QC and/or full data harvesting. Acceptable velocity sensors are e.g. 4.5 Hz or 5 Hz high-sensitivity geophones.

Acceptable velocity sensors are e.g. 4.5 Hz or 5 Hz high-sensitivity geophones.
A 3C node should be able to operate standalone at least for two weeks (24 h/day). However, the operating time must be expandable with an external battery, and the system should come with an open ended cable for external DC power.
The offered package should include all necessary hardware and software for full operation of the nodes, including equipment to unload the memory cards, charge the batteries, and also the wireless system and data QC and/or full data harvesting tools, but excluding hardware and software needed for centralized wireless online (real-time) system monitoring and/or full data harvesting which - if applicable - is asked to be offered as a part of options.

The Tenderer must take full responsibility for the functioning system of the delivered equipment.
Kesto: 60 kuukautta
Vaihtoehtojen kuvaus:
The Tenderers are at least asked to offer, as an option 1, up to 600 additional large-N nodes (price/node), the same kind as they have offered for the package of 600 nodes to fulfill the minimum technical requirements and quality evaluation criteria. Price will affect the benchmark price.

Additionally, the tenderers may also propose the following options (but this is not mandatory and will not affect the benchmark price):
O2. Additional 3-axis accelerometer sensor compatible with the recording units offered to fulfill the minimum requirements and quality evaluation criteria (price/sensor).
O3. Additional external batteries compatible with the recording units offered to fulfill the minimum requirements and quality evaluation criteria (600-1 200; price/battery).
O4. Additional hardware and software package for centralized wireless online (real-time) system monitoring and/or data harvesting for 600-1 200 nodes offered to fulfill the minimum requirements and quality evaluation criteria.
O5. Time-stamp equipment. Equipment to generate time stamps for active-source shot records produced by a range of source types.
O6. Another (for max. 15 persons) a minimum of 5-day training in the field in Finland (location to be specified later). The seller will cover their own staff, travel etc. costs. (One training included also in the main offered package).
