South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk) asks offers for the Electronics 3K-factory in Savonlinna about a largescale 3D pellet printer. The smallest allowed printing area for the 3D printer to be purchased is 120 cm x 120 cm and the smallest permitted printing height is 1 m. The system must be portal or gantry-based solution. We don’t accept systems based on an industrial articulated robot.

The machine will be purchased by an investment project AMBIO Laiteprojekti (Additive manufacturing technologies for the regional bio economy cluster - investment project). The machine must be capable to process all thermoplastic materials in pellet form or in granules. The equipment will be used both in material research tasks and in small series test production. In addition to standard plastics, the device must be able to 3d print recycled plastics and polymers reinforced with wood fiber or other composites developed for 3D printing.

The maximum purchase price (all acquisition costs excluding taxes) is under 200 000 €. However, Xamk reserves for itself the possibility of additional purchases of a maximum of 50% from the winner of this tender in accordance with the Procurement Act.

The equipment offered must include the necessary parts, accessories, tools and software. The offer must also include the material feeding system, pellet drying, cooling required by the device, closed housing and the possibility of remote monitoring. All nozzle sizes available must be included to the offer and to the total price. The bid price must include all costs, including user training, user manuals, delivery costs to Savonlinna and other costs. The only exception to this is the extra accessories offered separately as an option, which must not be absolutely mandatory when using the machine. Examples of such additional devices are a milling head suitable for the same device or nozzle equipment for 45-degree 3d printing.

Some other absolute requirements:

- The warranty time is min 2 years

- Heated printing platform. The printing platform must be able to be heated to at least 120 degrees if necessary

- A maximum nozzle temperature must be at least 350 °C

- The minimum number of heating zones in the extrusion system is 3

- Mandatory nozzle sizes are 2, 4, 6 and 8 mm

- Printing output at least 4.5 kg/h

- The delivery must include a starter package of 3D printing material that can be used to provide user training and to test and check the device for acceptance of the delivery.

Other additional accessories can be offered separately as an accessory and as an option alongside the actual equipment on offer. However, it should be possible to start the 3D printing and research of thermoplastic polymers and composites with pellets or granules with the equipment and the package included in the price offered.

The offered products must be CE-approved and -marked in terms of the relevant requirements.
