The objective is to extend an existing device for direct air capture of CO2 (DAC), to produce CO2 at high purity (over 95%) with temperature-vacuum swing adsorption-desorption cycles. Currently, the desorption is done in ambient pressure, by indirect heating with hot water and flushing with ambient air. The device should be extended by adding a gas treatment line of vacuum valves, vacuum pump, moisture removal and other related components, so that CO2 with over 95% purity can be produced. Apart the missing vacuum valves, the main mechanical structure of the adsorbent container is already suitable for vacuum. New automation is required for seamless operation and data collection.
