The subject of the procurement is equipped pens for pigs and slat flooring for pens as an option.
Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) will renew its general pig and poultry research facilities. In the future Luke will conduct all its pig and poultry intensive studies in a building having separate compartments for pigs and poultry. Luke will start using the renewed poultry facilities early 2025 and renewed pig facilities summer 2025.
The purpose of the present procurement is to build equipped pens suitable for piglets 7-30 kg live weight and for fattening pigs 30-140 kg live weight for research purposes. In this procurement Luke will ask for materials for 44 the equipped pens and service for building the pens into the facility. The equipped pens will be different from standard pens and equipment in commercial production.
The detailed purposes of the present procurement are to obtain materials for specially designed pig pen walls, contact walls, feeding troughs, piglet feeders (and slats) suitable for 7-140 kg live weight pigs as well as service to install the materials according to the design. Although the pens and the equipment will be compiled from commercially available materials, the size, shape and number of the materials per pen may differ from the commercial solutions.

All offered equipment must meet the current animal welfare legislation in Finland.
The contract will be made with one supplier.
