The Structures for the Finnish Eastern Border Barrier Fence

The Finnish Border Guard (FBG) shall launch the procurement process for the pilot of the Finnish Eastern Border Barrier Fence. The project will begin with a pilot phase in which the FBG will test the functionality of the solutions selected for the management and implementation of the project and construct a section of barrier fence around four kilometres long.
The Candidates are asked to submit their request to participate regarding the structural products and parts of structures of the fence.
The stuctures include, for instance, the following material:
- Fence post including base plate
- Fence mesh panel
- Attachment and installing material
- Y-shaped branch on top of the fence for razor blade
wire installation
- Razor blade wire rolls
- Gates
- Gate opening mechanisms and electrical cabinets
Due to security reasons, the inivitation to tender shall be sent only to the qualified tenderers. The language of the procurement shall be Finnish starting from the invitation to tender -phase. However, the request to participate can be submitted in English.

The approximately 4 kilometres long pilot fence will be built in spring 2023 at Imatra. The objective is to complete the pilot during the summer 2023. Deliveries shall take place between weeks 15-16. During 2023 - 2025, the goal is to complete 70 kilometres long fence and finally, 200 kilometres by the year 2026. However, the procuremet process for these shall take place later.
