3D X-ray Computer Tomography imaging system for research and education purposes mostly in the field of electronics, and to an extent in mechanical engineering.
The equipment will also be used for education and training purposes by the nuclear engineering laboratory of the energy engineering department.
Typical use cases of the equipment will include:
Electronics reliability research: Detection, identification and localization of defects in electronic components (including small surface-mount parts such as ceramic capacitors, IC packages and large semiconductor modules found in power electronics).
Electrical engineering research and education: Structural studies of components and small assemblies/devices.
Basic electronics education and prototype construction: non-routine inspection of solder joints.
Mechanical engineering: Structural inspection of 3D-printed metal parts.
As a part of the tendering process, LUT University provides you with a set of samples, on which you must carry out the assignments described in the attachment 1. Please request samples by 11 November 2022; tommi.karkkainen@lut.fi.

Option for automatic sample changer capable of handling all samples in all Assignments, such that the sample changer is
a) ordered together with the imaging solution, and
b) ordered separately during 2023 and retrofitted to the solution
Various options for sample changers (e.g. different number of samples) can be offered. Sample changer does not affect scoring. LUT University will either choose one of the options or decide to not include one. The price of the sample changer is not included in the price limit of 340 000 €. The price of the sample changer option must include all associated costs such as user training, installation, shipping and duties.
