High performance mass spectrometer for proteomics and protein analysis
We are looking for a high performance instrument for the detailed characterization of proteins with emphasis on bottom up techniques with DDA and DIA methods. The target proteins are purified species or complex protein mixtures. The instrument must be able to perform quantitative measurements with isotopically labelled species, label free quantitation, and targeted proteomics with quantitation by MRM, SRM or comparable techniques. Other application fields are the analysis of full length proteins including top down analysis and small molecule work such as lipidomics.
Among the technical features we expect versatile fragmentation modes including ETD and CID that can be applied flexibly during the same run and targeted to specific ions. In addition MS3 or higher should be possible. The instrument has to feature high resolution and mass accuracy and offer highest sensitivity and represent the latest development in ion optics and detector design.
