Multi-photon microscope system

The multi-photon microscope system will be part of the Light Microscopy Core facility of the Biocenter Oulu, where it will be used for life science imaging. The core facility has an open access policy and instrumentation and software should be easy to use and meet the requirements of users from different research areas.
The main application for the instrument is the microscopic analysis of highly light scattering samples like cells in thick mesoscopic scale tissue samples and cultures and also small animals in vivo. The system has to be sensitive and gentle and capable for 3D time lapse imaging of tissues and organotypic cultures and intravital animal (mouse-rat) imaging. Capability for software controlled and automated fast high resolution XYZ imaging in combination with large scanning areas and volumes is also essential. As samples are often sensitive and signals weak, it is important that the signal detection is sensitive and signal to noise ratio is high, and the instrument allows low photo-toxicity imaging in combination with high penetration depth. Set-up should be upgradeable with additional accessories and software components.
Tender should contain a completely fully operational system.
