In order to maintain its leading position in low temperature and quantum technology research, Aalto University needs a very large diameter dilution refrigerator with high cooling power and reduced electromagnetic noise and mechanical vibration that allows building complex quantum circuits, such as quantum simulators or qubit processors. This refrigerator would serve as a platform for long-term research which requires a dedicated, specialised setup that cannot be provided by any of the existing refrigerators at Aalto University.
The development and investigation of large-scale quantum computing systems requires an extended set of cryogenic electronics and wiring operating in the GHz frequency range. The set of required cryogenic electronics (including at least 76 attenuated RF lines and 8 RF lines equipped with RF cryogenic amplifiers and circulates) shall be installed in the device.
