HSL (Helsinki Region Transport authority) plans and procures public transport in its operating area, approves its fare and ticketing systems and ticket prices, is responsible for its marketing and travel advice, organises ticket sales, and is responsible for ticket inspection. The responsibilities of HSL has covered by own liability insurances. HKL (Helsinki City Transport) is responsible for the metro service. HKL is responsible for metro traffic, service and maintenance of the stations and track, as well as keeping the owner (Länsimetro Oy) updated. HKL also owns the metro trains, trams and city bikes. The responsibilities of HKL has covered by own liability insurances. Länsimetro Oy is responsible only for building the track and stations and it is the owner of the track and the stations with its technical systems. The target of this individual procurement is to purchase the Länsimetro Oy’s insurance policies.
