Yle videotape digitalization and task management system

Object of procurement is a videotape digitalisation and task management system, inclusive of system's installation, training and support.
Yle has already digitized its videotape archive since 2008, but our current technical solution is outdated. At this point Yle is looking technical solution to manage tasks, digitize tapes and carry out quality control. Yle will use its own tape decks to carry out playing tapes.

The object of this procurement is the delivery and support of the video digitizing and management system for Yle. The procurement covers the delivery of the system, installation, training and support. Yle and its partners will be working together with chosen supplier to build up the solution and make necessary integrations i.e. to Yle Media Asset Management system.
Yle is responsible for safeguarding the national audiovisual heritage in Finland with respect to the content that has been produced or is owned by Yle, thus, Yle shall digitise its video tape collection and aims to preserve quality of digitised image and sound by trying to re-produce digital one-to-one copy of original content on the original carriers.
Yle has still to digitize around 80 000 titles on BetacamSP / Digibeta tapes, 5 000 DVCam tapes, 9 500 on 1” C-format open reel tapes and 3 000 titles on U-Matic tapes. Yle wants to find a technical solution and efficient workflow that allows us to finish digitizing remaining videotapes for the period of next two years.
Yle generates digitalization orders in Avid Interplay MAM (METRO) and Mediagenix What’sOn (Plasma) that are imported as XML into new system. Mediafiles and enriched metadata are exported from system to METRO.
Yle plans to start to use the chosen solution during January 2018.

The tenderer must have proven experience on successfully delivering at least one (1) videotape digitalization and task management system project that fulfil the requirements described in the Appendix 1.1 Project description and Appendix 1.2 Service Description of the Invitation to Tender.
The references shall be from the past 3 (three) years.
