Funet CNaaS IP/MPLS routing and Ethernet switching equipment

The purpose of this procurement is to secure a framework contract with a single supplier for purchasing IP/MPLS routing and Ethernet switching equipment and their Network Operating System (NOS) software and related licenses to be used primarily for Funet Campus Network as a Service (CNaaS) service. The procurement also covers related hardware and software support services and spare part service for the requested equipment. The contract to be signed will be a framework contract by nature, meaning that the exact product models, quantities etc. will be defined in more detail during the contract period.
CSC will optionally use the equipment also for some other use cases, for example for developing Funet backbone related connectivity services. Such use cases include, but are not limited to, L2 and L3 aggregation, IP peering and generic customer premises edge (CPE). The primary target of this procurement is Funet CNaaS service, though.

CSC - IT Center for Science is requesting routing and switching equipment and related spare part and support services for the following networking equipment to be used primarily for Campus Network as a Service (CNaaS) needs and potentially also for some other Funet network related extensions. More detailed description of the intended use cases and the desired features and functionalities are given later in the appendices. In a nutshell, the scope of this procurement is:

- IP routing equipment with support for MPLS Segment Routing with ISIS-SR and MPLS overlay L2 and L3 services (EVPN over MPLS, IPv4 L3VPN and IPv6 L3VPN) in different port configurations.
- Ethernet switching equipment in different port configurations for basic industry standard VLAN switching. For possible future needs, hardware and software capabilities for EVPN/VXLAN is required, although possible software licenses, if such are needed for enabling EVPN/VXLAN features, are not required to be included in the offered prices. Basic unicast BGP routing support, including possible licenses, is required from the Ethernet switching equipment, though.

- Power over Ethernet capable access switches with very basic Ethernet switching and scaling capabilities. No EVPN/VXLAN or such features are required from the PoE switches.
- Possible software licenses, if any are needed in order to deploy the requested minimum features.
- Software support and spare part services for the requested equipment and their Network Operating System (NOS)
The tender scope and specification and intended use cases and architectural plans are defined in more detail in appendix "Tender scope and specification".
Kesto: 60 kuukautta
Uudistusten kuvaus:
The fixed contract period for the framework contract will be 5 years, after which the contract can be continued on a year by year basis if so agreed between the parties. The overall length of the framework contract cannot exceed 10 years, though, so the effective contract period will be 5+5 years at maximum.

Vaihtoehtojen kuvaus:
CSC reserves the right to purchase also other IP and Ethernet networking equipment or related products from the vendor catalogue that could be used for the described use cases.
CSC will also optionally order consultancy and/or specialist work form the supplier, the pricing and scope of which will be agreed separately between CSC and the supplier.
Further, if the winning supplier has Wi-Fi products and related software in its product portfolio, CSC reserves the right to purchase also Wi-Fi products and software in order to extend Campus Network as a Service from fixed IP/Ethernet networks to wireless access, too. If feasible, these will be negotiated separately with the supplier during the contract period.
