Multi-source Gamma Beam Irradiator (hereinafter referred to as ‘the GBI’) to be used by the Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory (SSDL) of the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority of Finland (hereinafter referred to as ‘STUK’).

Multi-source Gamma Beam Irradiator (hereinafter referred to as ‘the GBI’) to be used by the Secondary Standard Dosimetry Laboratory (SSDL) of the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority of Finland (hereinafter referred to as ‘STUK’). The GBI shall generate a collimated gamma radiation beam in a horizontal direction required for calibration or reference irradiation of equipment used in radiation protection dosimetry following the standard ISO4037:2019 and ISO 29661:2012 requirements (1 - 2). The GBI shall be installed in Jokiniemi, Vantaa to the new premises of STUK in the first quarter of 2022. The GBI is installed on a moveable carriage (provided by STUK) so that it can be transferred via rails between three different irradiation rooms. The GBI shall include the following items: Irradiator head (GBI head); and Three (3) Cs-137 sources and three (3) Co-60 sources.

The object of the procurement is described in more detail in the call for tenders and its annexes.
The contracting authority shall select one (1) supplier with whom it shall conclude a contract.
The aim is to have the contract enter into force on 1 July 2021.
Contract period starts from the signature of the contract and shall remain in force until the contractual obligations have been fulfilled.
The procurement is subject to the Act on Public Procurement and Concession Contracts (1397/2016, Procurement Act).
The contracting authority may suspend the procurement procedure in whole or in part for actual and justified reason (Section 125 of the Public Procurement Act).
Optional items:
Typical consumables and spare parts; and Maintenance contract.
The options are described in more detail in the call for tenders and its annexes. The contracting authority decides the procurement of options separately.
