As a communications partner, you will support Aalto University, more specifically the Aalto University’s Communications team with the refining and implementation of Aalto University’s science and research communications strategy and action plan. As part of the actual communications strategy, you will support the communications team in refining the goal for Aalto’s science and research communications as well as identifying the external stakeholders and their expectations for science and research related communications. You will also support the communications team in the planning and execution of communications activities related to science and research, both in Finland and globally. This includes, for example, creation of narratives and storytelling, planning and executing of campaigns and events, as well as writing of articles, news, blog posts, social media posts and media releases related to science and research. You will also organize communications trainings for both the communications team and Aalto’s faculty. In addition, you will support the communications team in defining KPI's and methods for measuring the success of science and research related communications. As a partner, you are expected to collaborate with our current partners on e.g. shooting videos and producing events. In addition to working closely with the communications team, you will co-operate with other internal stakeholders, e.g. researchers, and external stakeholders and partners needed, to ensure successful refining and execution of the communications strategy and action plan.

Summary of the support expected from the partner: Refining external stakeholders for Aalto University’s Communications related to science and research together with the University’s Communications team; planning and executing a survey within the stakeholders for understanding their interests and expectations for science and research related communications; based on the stakeholder survey, together with the University’s Communications team, refine the strategy for Aalto University's Communications related to science and research, including definitions of what should be communicated to which stakeholders, how and when, and in which formats and channels; based on the refined communications strategy, develop the communications action plan for science and research, and ensure that the plan is regularly revisited, re-evaluated and updated, when necessary; support planning and executing communications actions in Finland and globally; subcontracting (where needed) resources for technical work (e.g. event production); creating KPI's for communications related to science and research as well as methods for measuring the success of science and research related communications.
