At the moment, the Kakolanmäki wastewater treatment plant's outlet pipe is connected with the Turku town area storm sewer. The storm sewer capacity is exceeded from time to time and, in addition, the use of storm sewer is expected to increase in the future. According to preliminary plans this is why there will be built a new outlet pipe to the sea.

The contract includes, among other things, detailed design, tunneling and piping materials. In the procurement in question, the Customer will select a contractor for contracting the needed outlet pipe capacity improvement. The subject matter and background of this procurement has been preliminarily described in the Instruction for request to participate and in its Annex 1, Preliminary Invitation to tender.

Not withstanding what has been said in subsection II.2.7) about 48 months validity of the contract, the contract period begins with the signing of the contract and continues until the project has been completed and the contractual obligations have been settled.

In the light of current information, the project implementation decision and funding will be confirmed during 2018. The contract will depend on these decisions.

The Contracting authority's tender documents are available in Finnish and English language. In the event that there is a contradiction between the documents, the documents in Finnish shall be preferential.
