Upon the founding of Aalto in 2010, donations of a grand total of over 200 000 000 EUR were raised from Finnish companies, organizations and individuals, and incorporated into Aalto's initial endowment. At present, Aalto is engaged in a major governmental matching funding campaign (which applies to all Finnish universities). Aalto's goal is to raise 20 million euros by June 2017, with governmental matching funding expected to be 1-2 euros per every euro raised.
