The current procurement procedure shall cover the geo-physical and geo-technical studies for the design and construction of the Balticconnector offshore pipeline. The objective of the survey is to provide detailed information about the seabed including hardness of outcropping bedrock, type of soil, grain size distribution, relative density, undrained shear strength etc. The awarded tenderer shall be responsible for the execution of the surveys.

This is a joint procurement of Baltic Connector Oy and Elering AS (together referred to as ‘Contracting Authorities’). Baltic Connector Oy is the Contracting Authority responsible for carrying out this procurement procedure. Baltic Connector and Elering AS have signed a co-operation agreement on joint procurement of the services covered by this procurement procedure. According to the agreement Baltic Connector Oy shall be responsible for scheduling, design and overall management of the procurement procedure. However, the services are to be provided to both Baltic Connector Oy and Elering AS.

The Balticconnector project is a gas infrastructure project aiming to interconnect the Finnish and Estonian gas networks in co-operation of Baltic Connector Oy and Elering AS. Project planning support from the EU within the framework of the CEF program was agreed in May 2015.

The survey period for geophysical and geo-technical services shall start from mid-September 2016 and last approximately to the end of December 2016. Reporting shall be completed by the end of January 2017.
If seen necessary and agreed with the contracting authority, vendor can propose to execute an amending survey period for geo-technical surveys. The amending survey period can take place in the spring and summer of 2017. The reporting for the amending geo-technical surveys shall be completed by the end of September 2017.
