Background of the project:
Existing oil fired heat boiler plant at Helsingin Energia Salmisaari Power Plant is at the end of its life cycle. It will not be revised but replaced by a new wood pellet fired heat boiler plant.
Short description of the project:
Procurement of wood pellet fired 100 MW (fuel) heat boiler plant is a turn-key delivery. Procurement includes fuel handling and flue gas cleaning systems as following. Fuel handling system is going to be integrated to existing power plants fuel handling system.
— main fuel: wood pellet, which will be hammered to dust by hammer mills;
— start up and substitute fuel: heavy or light fuel oil.
— Fuel handling:
— pellet silo;
— hammer mills including dust control system;
— wood powder transmission system from hammer mills to wood powder silo;
— wood powder silo including dust control system;
— Wood pellet fired 100 MW (fuel) boiler plant with needed auxiliary systems and construction works;
— Bag filter or Electrostatic precipitator;
— Automation and electricity systems.
Preliminary time schedule of the project:
— final investment decision: May/2015;
— demolition work: autumn/2015;
— foundation work: winter/2015-2016;
— take over: winter 2016/2017.
Purchaser will be in charge for demolition work of existing oil fired boiler plant, excavations, foundations and conveyer between power plants fuel system and new wood pellet fired heat boiler plant and Contractor for other building works.
