Ship design
The Project 'The Midway Alignment of the Bothnian Corridor', aims at a fully integrated multimodal transport solution, between the cities, Vaasa in Finland and Umeå in Sweden. The project is partly financed by EU as a part of the TEN-T program “Motorways of the sea” and involves several public and private stakeholders on both sides of Kvarken.
The main objectives of the project is to facilitate the strengthening of a sustainable transport link between Umeå and Vaasa connecting Finland and Sweden, by improving its multimodal connection within the Bothnian corridor, and creating a fully integrated transport solution in the Baltic Sea Region within the TEN-T system. The project incorporates several activities, where one of the main activities is to design a new ferry optimized for the route. For this task, the project management needs assistance from a ship design company and hereby invite potential supplier to quote for this work.
